The curriculum in Westbourne follows the guidelines laid down by the Qualification and Curriculum Authority, the Early Learning Goals.

 
A new curriculum will be implemented in September 2008 which follows ‘The Early Years Foundation Stage’. These focus on six areas of learning – communication; language and literacy; mathematical development; knowledge and understanding; physical, creative and probably the most important at this age, personal and social development. In Reception French, ballet and swimming are introduced into the curriculum. The girls enjoy swimming in our own, large, heated pool and on occasion parents are invited to watch them!

 
Every girl is treated as an individual and her progress is carefully monitored by form teachers and Head of Lower School. Extension and consolidation work is given according to the needs of the individual. Every class is led by a fully qualified teacher and classroom assistants.
