HEAD'S END OF TERM LETTER

ruthThe end of term has finally arrived and on the way we have enjoyed three days of Christmas activities as a whole school. The Prep and Senior School carol services were, as always, a wonderful start to the Christmas Season. The standard of music in each was superb and appreciated by everyone. Reverend Thorburn, the vicar of St George's, remarked on how good it was to have the church so full and the strong sense of community which prevails on these occasions was very gratifying.

 

The term has gone by so quickly that it is hard to think back to the beginning when our new girls were arriving for their first days a EHS. I am glad to say that have settled in well, have become accustomed to Edgbaston ways and are a valued part of our very special community.

SENIOR SCHOOL CAROL SERVICE

 

carol.thumbOn Monday afternoon Senior School girls, staff, parents and governors gathered at St. George's Church in Edgbaston for the Carol Service. A packed church heard performances of seasonal music from the Chamber, Senior and Junior Choirs, the Chamber Orchestra and Recorder Consort.

END OF TERM CHRISTMAS ENTERTAINMENT

 

xmas18.thumbOn Wednesday the whole of Senior School was treated to a variety of House and Staff entertainment. The morning started with a Sixth Form Pantomime 'Cinderdella' skillfully directed by Vishika Patel and including great individual perfromances and considerable comic timing!

CHRISTMAS CAKE DECORATING COMPETITION!

 

christmas_cake.thumbDr. Weeks and Mrs Jones undertook the difficult task this week of judging the amazing array of Christmas and winter themed cakes produced by one half of Year 9. Armed with their marking criteria which included originality and finish they narrowed it down to 3 winners.
